The Women in Public Service Institute at Bryn Mawr College: Peacebuilding and Development is organized by Bryn Mawr College as part of the Women in Public Service Project (WPSP). The Institute reflects the overall goal of WPSP: to increase the participation and efficacy of women in all spheres of public service.
Applications were invited from early- and mid-career women throughout the world, especially emerging women leaders from countries that recently have experienced disruptive conflict, but reached a state of at least tenuous peace and rebuilding. Admission was highly competitive; more than 500 applications were received for some 50 places.
The Institute team is thrilled to have reached so many potential delegates and our applicant pool is a testament to the visibility of the Women in Public Service Project as well as the urgency for a real dialogue around women’s leadership in peacebuilding and post-conflict leadership.
